Nyla Baker, a senior on Westwood High School’s golf team, explained her pre-game routine: “I body amor checks, warm up swings, and then I go on the course.”
Players can also participate in qualifying rounds for regional or state tournaments, where they compete for advancement to higher levels. Westwood’s golfing athletes hope to gain more teammates to participate in state tournaments and higher-level competitions.
Reagen Junior, a junior on the Westwood High School golf team, expressed in an interview,
“I hope the season goes well because we don’t have that many people…” She also said before their matches, “We pray as a group.”
The season peaks with regional and state championships, where top teams and individuals for titles. At the end of the season, they often review their performance, celebrate achievements, and reflect on improvement areas, preparing for future seasons.
