This year, 2024 has gone by so quickly. It felt like Halloween was last week! But, 4 days ago we entered the month of December in just a blink of an eye! And you know what that also means…Christmas!
Christmas—the most jolly time of the year! From spending time with your friends and family to feeling the thrill of opening presents around the tree. So in that case, we want to give you 5 ways to prepare for the holiday season.
- First, decorate. Add decorations to your house. For the exterior, add a diy yard inflatable, a reef, and Christmas lights! For the interior, you could never go wrong with a classic Christmas tree with some cute ornaments and a sparkly star just to top it off.
- Next, start Christmas shopping. Some stores to hit up for girls are Sephora, Ulta, Shein (online), or even some simple gift cards that will do the trick! For boys, GameStop, Hibbett Sports, etc… Lastly, for the little ones, 5 below, Target, and Walmart.
- Another way is to start food planning. The food is personally one of my favorite parts of Christmas. Some things to cook are; ham, stuffing, mac and cheese, greens, and cornbread. Some sweet treats to make with your family are; cookies, pies, and banana pudding.
- Also, participate in festive activities. There are so many light shows in Columbia to attend. Or you could simply go to different neighborhoods and drive around to look at the lights. Bake and decorate cookies, sing Christmas carols, and if you live in a snowy area make snowmen and snow angels.
- Lastly, dress appropriately. Around this time of the year, temperatures are dropping drastically and we want everyone to stay warm and healthy. Put on mittens/gloves, hats, fuzzy socks, jackets, scarves, and extra layers!
Christmas is a time to spread joy, make cherished memories, and enjoy the warmth of loved ones. By decorating your home, finding the perfect gifts, planning delicious meals, and staying cozy, you’ll be well on your way to making this holiday season perfect as can be. The true spirit of Christmas lies in the moments shared and the love given. So, embrace the season, spread positivity, and let the countdown to Christmas begin!
